I am interested in going to an Institute and there are 2 certificates that anyone can? get that having nothing to do with each other even if some of the classes are similar in nature. One? New World Systems Corp. of Gibsonia, Pa., submitted the lowest and best bid for the purchase of a new financial management, payroll and human resources system equipment.
County Auditor Roger Corlett said the countys Data Processing Board has been exploring various new financial accounting systems for several years. It replaces the old system, which does not electronically link all agencies with Corletts office.
Four other software accounting companies submitted proposals for review by Corlett and the data board sub-committee. The initial one time cost of $467,035 plus the $40,000 software maintenance fee will be shared on a percentage basis by the various county agencies.
Commissioners agreed to pick up 50 percent of this cost The total costs for everyone will be spread over a five-year period, said County Administrator Janet Discher.
The following agencies will bear their cost based on percentage of usage: County Engineers Office, 4.14 percent; Children Services Board, 8.78 percent; Mental Health Recovery Services, 2.91 percent; Ashtabula County Department of Job Family Services, 12.63 percent; County Nursing Home, 8.84 percent; MR/DD Agency, 10.25 percent; Ashtabula County Health Department, 2.46 percent.
It will take nine to 12 months to implement and install the new software equipment. New World Systems will be involved in training employees in each of the agencies to use the software, Discher said.
The entire costs covers project management, installation, training support services and fees, officials said.
